Running to FEED- Fight Hunger

I have been a fan of the FEED Foundation for some time.  Founded by Lauren Bush, the FEED Foundation is the non-profit arm of FEED that supports programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition. It has since grown to encompass hunger relief efforts both stateside and abroad, as well as provide aid during natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide. As of September 2014, FEED has provided nearly 84 million meals globally.

Their mission is to fight hunger by fundraising and also selling products from their FEED brand.  I like the notion of purchasing a diaper bag, or even handbag that is crafted by artisans in developing communities (with quality materials sourced ethically) and then turning that profit into a foundation that goes into fighting hunger.

Hunger is one of the greatest risks to health worldwide, yet ironically, there is enough food in this world to feed everyone.

On September 28th, I joined RUN10FEED10's fun run in Santa Monica sponsored by a running stored called Top to Top. Thankfully, it was an untimed 10k and I recruited the help of an old college roomate of mine who happened to be in town that weekend and together we ran and helped support raise funds for this amazing cause.

I want to thank all my supporters who donated and also cheered us on (digitally) to complete and exceed my fundraising goals!  Thank you!!!!  And a big whoop whoop to the lady with the jogging stroller and 3 year old who ambitiously ran the entire thing and came in looking totally calm, collected and cool!
